About

We know why incumbent software fails, because we have been those users.

Vishnova Labs is an AI-native software studio. We look for industries where a legacy vendor charges far more than it delivers and retains customers on switching costs rather than quality — then we build the leaner alternative.

Why this exists

There is a conversation that happens in every industry we look at. Someone describes the software they use, in detail, with real contempt — the double entry, the seats they cannot afford to hand out, the report that takes three days. Then they renew.

They renew because switching costs more than staying, not because the product is good. That gap between what the software is worth and what it charges is the whole opportunity, and it is wide open in more industries than most people assume.

Legacy vendors could close it and largely have not, because their pricing depends on the bloat. Most startups do not close it either, because they build a horizontal platform and hope a vertical adopts it. We do the opposite: pick one industry, learn how it actually works, and build the thing that specific operation needed.

AI is what makes this viable at our size. An AI-augmented build process compresses months into weeks, which is the only reason a studio this small can be credible in three verticals at once.

The studio

Domain depth in the industries we target.

Vishnova Labs isn't a generic software shop. The founder brings direct domain experience across medicine, finance, and real estate — the regulated, complex industries where legacy software has the widest moat and the most to lose.

That background is the unfair advantage: we know exactly why incumbent software fails its users, because we’ve been those users. Every new vertical is entered with the same discipline — understand the buyer, understand the pain, build the right thing.

How we operate

Four commitments, and what each one costs us.

A principle with no cost attached is a slogan. These four have a price, which is the only evidence that we actually hold them.

Status stated plainly

Every product says Live, Beta or In build, and means it. You will not discover during a busy week that the thing you depended on was a prototype.

Costs us: the easy sale to someone who wanted to hear "ready".

We tell you not to switch

If your incumbent basically works and the gain would be marginal, a migration is a bad trade and we will say so. Switching earns its cost when the incumbent's pricing actively fights how you operate.

Costs us: customers, in the short run.

Your data leaves when you do

A usable export, at any time, without asking and without a retention call. Lock-in is the incumbent's strategy and it is the thing we exist to attack.

Costs us: the switching cost that would keep you.

AI has to be load-bearing

Our test: remove the AI and the product should stop making sense, rather than losing a tab. If a feature fails that test it does not ship as an AI feature.

Costs us: the easiest marketing line in software right now.

What we turn down

The work we say no to.

A studio that takes everything is a studio with no thesis.

  • Verticals where we have no route to real domain understanding

  • Adding a chat panel to something and calling the product AI-native

  • Billable services work dressed up as a product engagement

  • Announcing a vertical before there is something running in it

  • Per-seat pricing that locks out the people doing the actual work

Know an industry paying too much for software that stopped improving?

That is the most useful message we receive. Name the vertical, name the incumbent, and tell us what it costs the people stuck with it.
